VirusEpidemic presents a visual appealing, controllable 3D simulation of a city ravaged by an epidemic. The serious game allows the player to experiment with various starting settings and test different ways to fight and defeat the epidemic.
The game is created with the Unity Game Engine. UI and 3D assets are purchased from the Unity Asset Store.
The global coronavirus epidemic has created a surge of internet dashboards and epidemic simulations. Many of those simulations are highly intricate and scientific, but simply too complicated or dull to interest the general public. Our simulation intends to provide a more appealing, tangible learning experience. We hope that through the use of 3D design, visual clues and interactivity, VirusEpidemic could appeal to a a wider audience and help strengthening understanding for government-imposed restrictions.
The game is not fully optimized yet. There is a lot of room for improvement. In its current state, we measured the game’s simulation speed for both a comparatively weak and strong CPU.
